POSITION: Environmental Technician I

LATA is seeking an Enviromnetal Technician for the Los Alamos, NM area. The qualified Environmental Technician utilizes various power tools to dismantle mechanical and structural components of buildings being decommissioned and demolished.

• Perform various manual duties pertaining to demolition and cleaning operations in chemical and other industrial facilities
• Complete tasks while wearing a respirator and other necessary personal protective equipment
• Maintain a safe worksite through housekeeping duties
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Ensures compliance with state, customer, and company safety procedures
• Communicates with rigging and project management team
• Other duties as assigned

• 3 years work-related experience working in construction

• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards
• Ability to work with others, take direction and communicate effectively
• Physical fitness including ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds, work at heights, work in noisy environment, see well (naturally or with correction), climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects

• HAZWOPER 40 Hour Training
• Radiological Worker II Training
• DOE/DOD project experience preferred
