Los Alamos Technical Associates, Inc. (LATA) is seeking a part-time Program Manager for the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) Central Characterization Program (CCP) Visual Examination team to support waste characterization and certification activities under our newly awarded contract with the Central Characterization Program (CCP). This role will provide oversite, coordination and mentoring of the Visual Exam operations located at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The Visual Exam team provides oversight of the packaging of Contact-Handled (CH) Transuranic (TRU) and CH Mixed TRU Waste generated from national defense operations.

• Recruit and hire staff as needed to support VE mission.
• Work with CCP local management to ensure VE team performance is meeting expectations.
• Support LATA Lead Operators at each site with administrative functions.
• Support CCP local management with implementation of training programs as well as mentoring on the operational environments involved with the generation, internal transport and packaging of the waste.

• 15+ years of experience in plutonium operations at Los Alamos National Laboratory’s PF-4
• 5+ years’ experience in supervising radiological operations in PF-4 at First Line Manager (FLM) or Group Leader.
• Experience conducting drum-out operations
• Strong demonstrated ability to mentor and develop new staff.
• Ability to obtain DOE Q clearance
