Overview

Los Alamos Technical Associates, Inc. (LATA) seeking a motivated and career-driven ESH&Q Specialist II to support Environmental, Safety, Health & Quality (ESH&Q) operations across project sites and company activities. This position is ideal for individuals looking to grow their career in occupational safety, environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, construction safety, or quality assurance.

 

The ESH&Q Specialist II will work under the direction of ESH&Q management and project management to help maintain a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment. Responsibilities include assisting with field inspections, safety audits, training support, hazard identification, documentation, and implementation of company ESH&Q programs and procedures.
This position offers hands-on experience in industrial and construction safety environments and provides opportunities for professional growth, training, and advancement within the organization.

Responsibilities

•    Identify hazardous elements like chemical, physical, radiological, and biological in the workplace
•    Deliver daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and daily documentation and reporting requirements. 
•    Inspect and evaluate all equipment, practices, and procedures in accordance with safety legislation and government regulations
•    Ensure that the company’s rules and policies are followed, while working on a health and safety project
•    Participate in incident reporting and assist with investigations, corrective actions, and documentation. 
•    Coordinate and provide necessary training in the areas of safety like first-aid, fire drills, accident, etc.
•    Maintain good relations and coordination with the staff, management, and external parties to maximize healthy environment and minimize risks
•    Lead and assist colleagues at all levels in carrying out health and safety measures

Qualifications

•    Minimum an associate or technical degree with a minimum of 1 year of related experience, or a minimum of 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or willingness to obtain
•    OSHA 10-hour Construction Health and Safety Course (30-hour preferable) within the last three years
•    Competency in the following areas: Excavation, Scaffolding, Fall Protection, Hazardous Energy, Confined Space, and Rigging
•    Literate in Microsoft Office package
•    Ability to obtain a US security clearance 
•    Must be willing to travel
•    Strong communication and organizational skills 

Pay Range

USD $57,797.70 - USD $103,996.50 /Yr.
